I too, use the SPOT transmitter. Since I do most of my geocaching by myself, I have set up my SPOT profile to send an email to my wife and my son. I generally send a message when I start my journey, which will indicate where my caching machine is located (my truck), and I will send the occasional OK message to both, along the journey. Unless you need the added features of the upgrade, I personally won't upgrade to the new version.

The girl guide event was so popular that I have been asked to do another one in October at McQueen Lake. I haven't said I'll do it yet as I need to get more information. Also the school district considers the area environmentally sensitive so I won't be able to place any special caches without permission (and only for the event).

A Kamloops troop didn't go to the convention here in Kamloops and also feels left out. There may be an event for them as well in the fall.

These might keep me sane while we do a huge software "go live" at work in October. The first of six over the next two years.

It was fun and well done! I think my biggest accomplishment was climbing the hill in Hedley to get the cache at the top! One of the coolest spot was Frenchy's mine. Plus doing a steep cache in my sandles (not recommended).

Could have done without the smoke and very hot, dry weather. Loved having the hot showers available. :)

Thanks to Debi, Craig, Keith & Pam, Jan & Dave, and Linda for the fun days of caching and the laughs. Phil, Doug, & the Zees for the fun evenings. Guys, don't misplace your stars!
